About JonsonPhotography

Based in the border town between Laois and Offaly, Portarlington is a small picturesque town which was settled in the 1600's by French Huguneots. This strong French heritage is clearly visible with street names and buildings and, of course, the annual "Festival Francaise de Portarlington".

JonsonPhotography is based in the town and caters for local, national and international clients and their photography needs. We strive to provide first class photography services to both personal and corporate clients. We can capture anything your imagination can conceive...hence our motto "Conceive, Click, Capture". Our services also cater for the more impulsive side of your nature including your pets to special themes to boudoir.

The founder, Paul, grew up with a camera in his hand from the age of 13 when he received an SLR for a Confirmation gift. Since then he has documented almost every day of his life. Career wise, Paul's background is music and IT - a computer programming DJ if you will !  Becoming unemployed in 2011 he undertook a Digital Media course with the Digital Skills Academy in 2013 and it was on the digital photography module of that course where JonsonPhotography was conceived. In 2014 JonsonPhotography was born when Paul was booked to cover a charity event being held by the Irish Dental Students Association. Since then JonsonPhotography has covered numerous charity events, promotional shoots and male and female model shoots. One of whom has gone on to be featured on magazines not only here in Ireland but also in the USA...proud to say that JonsonPhotography is where she had her break !  Throughout 2014 to 2017 Paul studied software development at NCI, Java programming at eCollege and Entrepreneurship Skills at the Entrepreneurs Academy and now all of that has come together with the launch of JonsonPhotography in July 2017.

A forward thinking and energetic person, Paul has encompassed the ideology of working for over 10 years with Virgin Music and HMV into this new venture to add a sense of fun but total professionalism.
